One of the published goals in the Luxon Q3 plan is “Gazette Amendments to the National Policy Statement for Highly Productive Land to specified infrastructure and farming activities on highly productive land”.
EPF and PIANZ made a combined submission on this topic to MPI which has been discussed with Minister Hoggard, and a proposal from MPI is now with the Cabinet for discussion and decision. The detail of that proposal won’t be known until the Cabinet has considered it, timing is the end of July.
